Ok, so I started at Snap Fit on Monday. I haven't set foot in a gym in about 15 years. It was scary. Lots of new toys. Luckily, Barb was there to hold my hand. It has been really nice catching up with her. I walked on the treadmill for about 25 min. I don't think I worked hard enough, I barely broke a sweat. Then I went to the elliptical. I thought I was going to die! I only lasted about 10 min and broke out in a very good sweat. I felt every muscle screaming!!!! I decided to call it a day. I wasn't sure what else I could do and wanted to be able to walk the next day.
On Tuesday, I finally met with Jamie, the fitness trainer at Snap Fit. He was very diplomatic. He definately has a career in politics if that is what he chooses some time. He weighed and messured and he was very nice about it. Even though I had my clothes on, it still wasn't a pretty sight.
Jamie then showed me some exercies to do. I did 20 push ups, 10 sit ups and then I pulled this bar thing with weights down 20 times. I don't know what it is called, but I could feel it in my back.
For the next set of exercises, he had me do this sitting to standing position exercise for 20 reps, then something called the Plank, then holding a weight and lifting it from my thigh to shoulder height, then walk a little, then do steps 10 per leg.
Then we repeated the first set of excercises, then the second set.
I was surprised I wasn't in pain after, but was really scared how I would feel the next day. Surprisingly, I wasn't all that sore. I have a little soreness in my shoulders from the steering wheel exercise, but that is it.
I didn't make it to the gym yesterday. I am planning to go back today. I have enjoyed it. Jamie also gave me some hints on my diet and I am trying to stay on track with that.
We will see.......
